چکیده

INTRODUCTION Gradient echo (GRE) imaging has a wide range of clinically useful applications. In particular, GRE imaging is frequently used in the clinic for anatomical/structural imaging and imaging dynamics for diseases that span all organ systems and numerous pathologies. In general, an advantage of GRE imaging is the fact that it is regarded as “fast” owing to the generally short repetition times (TRs). As a consequence, GRE imaging is especially useful for: proton density-weighted, T1-weighted and T2*-weighted imaging; capturing physiologic motion; perfusion imaging; angiography; real time imaging; and for true 3D imaging. A notable disadvantage is the fact that GRE imaging can’t generally achieve T2-weighted image contrast. This talk will also provide context by succinctly comparing and contrasting spin echo and GRE imaging.

MRI of bone metastases: the choice of the sequence

MRI is very sensitive to detect bone metastases. To improve specificity, a clever use of sequences, spin echo, gradient echo in or opposed phase, contrast medium and diffusion is needed.

Increased maximum gradient amplitude improves robustness of spin-echo cardiac diffusion-weighted MRI

Background Cardiac motion presents a major challenge in diffusion weighted MRI (DWI), often leading to large signal dropouts that necessitate repeated measurements (Pai, V.M., MRM 2011). While cardiac DWI is generally ECG gated to apply diffusion weighting during peak-systole or enddiastole, these intervals can be short and difficult to pinpoint, resulting in poor sequence reproducibility. Rece...

Speaker Identification And Verification Of Noisy-Echoed Speech Using Gaussian Mixture Models

— The two major applications of speaker recognition applications are speaker verification and speaker identification. But in most of the cases the signal is corrupted with background interferences such as noise and echo. This paper proposes the method of speaker recognition and identification after the noise separation and echo cancellation. Support vector machine(svm) classification based sign...

Gradient echo imaging.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) based on gradient echoes is used in a wide variety of imaging techniques and clinical applications. Gradient echo sequences form the basis for an essential group of imaging methods that find widespread use in clinical practice, particularly when fast imaging is important, as for example in cardiac MRI or contrast-enhanced MR angiography. However, the term "gradi...

In-vivo Quantitative Measure of Black Hole Severity in Multiple Sclerosis with Gradient Echo Plural Contrast Imaging

Introduction: Among the different types of MS brain lesions observed by MRI, black holes are thought to be most associated with significant tissue destruction including axonal loss [1]. Black holes are usually detected as hypointense areas compared to the normal appearing white matter (NAWM) on T1-weighted (T1w) images generated by conventional turbo-spin-echo (SE) MRI sequences. Unfortunately,...
